About Stella Group
The Stella Group name is from 2023. The experience behind it goes back a lot further.
Five business owners, with a combined 150 years across construction, electrical and renewable energy, brought their individual companies together under one roof rather than continuing to compete for the same jobs.

A client with a renewable energy project rarely needs panels on a roof alone. They need groundworks, electrical installation, sometimes a new substation connection, ongoing maintenance once the system is live, and a contractor able to speak to a finance director about the figures as readily as a facilities manager about the installation itself. Delivering all of that through one accountable contractor, rather than coordinating several, is what The Stella Group was built to provide.

Electrical installation sits at the centre of the business, and at the centre of that is a clear objective:
Reducing what a business spends on electricity, on a lasting basis rather than for the length of a warranty.
Senior Management

Built on decades of experience
The Stella Group was established in 2023, but the experience behind the business goes back much further.
Our senior management team has spent decades working across electrical contracting, renewable energy, data and fibre, construction and infrastructure, progressing from hands-on technical roles through to the delivery and management of some of the UK’s most significant commercial energy projects.
Today, that experience comes together within The Stella Group, providing clients with a fully integrated approach to energy, electrical and construction projects.
1990
Where it started
The journey began in electrical engineering, with members of today’s senior management team developing their careers from apprenticeship level through to project supervision and management.
This hands-on foundation continues to influence how Stella operates today, combining technical understanding with strong operational and commercial management.
2003
Building a business
In 2003, members of the current senior management team established an electrical installation business specialising in electrical contracting, data and fibre optic technology.
The business went on to deliver complex projects across commercial, healthcare, infrastructure and specialist environments, building the technical and operational experience that would underpin future ventures.
2006
Moving into renewable energy
Recognising the potential of renewable energy early, the team began delivering commercial Solar PV installations.
Over the following years, projects ranged from schools and commercial premises across the UK to international installations in Europe and South Africa. More than 100 schools and approximately 50 large commercial installations were delivered during this period.
2009
Early industry accreditation
The business achieved Microgeneration Certification for Solar PV, becoming one of the earliest accredited companies in Yorkshire at a time when there were only around 90 registered businesses nationally.
This complemented established industry accreditations covering electrical contracting, health and safety and construction.
2010–2012
Scaling renewable energy delivery
As demand for Solar PV accelerated, the team gained significant experience in scaling renewable energy operations.
This included helping establish training centres, developing technical and operational processes and supporting the training and mobilisation of hundreds of engineers.
Alongside large-scale domestic delivery, the team continued to focus on the commercial sector, delivering around 100 systems across schools, agricultural buildings and other commercial premises.
2012–2016
Delivering landmark commercial solar projects
A new specialist energy business was established in 2012, bringing together an experienced workforce focused on commercial renewable energy.
Within its first few months, the team secured what was then the UK’s largest rooftop Solar PV installation, a multi-megawatt system comprising approximately 21,000 panels across 120 roofs at a major UK automotive manufacturing facility.
Over the following years, the team delivered major rooftop Solar PV projects for some of the UK’s best-known businesses across automotive, retail, manufacturing and distribution. By 2016, more than 50MWp of rooftop Solar PV capacity had been installed.
2016–2023
Broadening our capabilities
The next chapter saw the team’s experience expand beyond renewable energy into a broader infrastructure offering.
Projects encompassed electrical contracting, Solar PV, fibre and IT networks, civil engineering and bespoke installations, alongside the development of operational systems, industry accreditations and long-standing relationships with major organisations.
2023
The Stella Group is formed
With the renewable energy market maturing and demand for integrated energy solutions increasing, members of the senior management team came together to establish The Stella Group.
The Group was structured to bring specialist disciplines together under one organisation, covering energy system design and manufacture, electrical installation, construction and civil engineering, operations and maintenance, data and communications and central project management.
This structure allows Stella to manage projects from initial concept and design through to installation, commissioning and ongoing support.
2023–2026
Building the next generation of energy infrastructure
Since its formation, The Stella Group has continued to grow its presence within the renewable energy sector.
Projects have included more than 60 new-build care home Solar PV and battery storage systems, multi-megawatt commercial Solar PV installations and numerous commercial solar and battery projects.
Across its first three years, the Group reports delivery totalling approximately 30MWp of Solar PV and 15MWh of battery energy storage.
Today
Experience behind the energy transition
Today, The Stella Group brings together a workforce of skilled specialists with expertise spanning Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), EV charging, electrical infrastructure, construction, data and dynamic monitoring.
What began with hands-on electrical engineering more than three decades ago has developed into a multidisciplinary group capable of taking complex energy and infrastructure projects from concept through to long-term operation.
The technology has evolved. The principle hasn’t: technically sound solutions, delivered properly.
Our Values
One team you can hold accountable, start to finish.
Nothing subcontracted, nothing handed off.
Every capability works from the same plan.
Genuine energy solutions, not just equipment.
